What We Look For
Every manuscript is evaluated through six criteria.
We read for work that takes a question seriously and argues its way to an answer. These six criteria guide every editorial decision — not as a checklist to game, but as the qualities we most hope to find in a submission.
CRITERION 01
Significance
Does the essay ask a question worth sustained inquiry?
CRITERION 02
Analytical Depth
Does it move beyond description into interpretation?
CRITERION 03
Interdisciplinarity
Does it connect fields in a way that actually strengthens the argument?
CRITERION 04
Evidence
Are its claims grounded in texts, artworks, films, archives, cases, or other verifiable materials?
CRITERION 05
Originality
Does it offer an independent reading rather than repeat familiar commentary?
CRITERION 06
Clarity
Are complex ideas expressed with precision and control?
